2. Metal Forming, Tooling & Equipment’s

The mechanical properties of polyurethane allow for excellent resilience, toughness and load bearing capacity. These properties can be specifically controlled through different mixtures of the polyurethane ingredients. Polyurethane also has high resistance to mechanical fatigue, shear, and corrosion, impact and mold contamination.
Some of the major advantages of Polyurethane are non-compressibility, resiliency, and the ability to form and hold metal without tarnishing its surface finish. It behaves similar to a

solid fluid with a memory; under force it will change its shape, but its volume will remain constant. Polyurethane will produce high, uniform and continuous counter pressure under load. And, when the load is removed, it quickly returns to its original shape.

Polyurethane- A viable option
Oil and gas companies have very demanding work conditions as most of them have their work equipment’s working in some of the toughest environmental conditions .Replacement parts need to be reliable and durable to handle such work conditions. Polyurethane offers excellent physical and mechanical properties, processes in Oil & Gas companies such as whether fracking, compressing, transporting or refining require materials that can withstand high levels of corrosion, pressure, heat and abrasion and have good impact resistance properties. Polyurethane is also used as protective coatings inside pipelines responsible for transporting sour gases and proves very effective in anticorrosive applications. All offshore extraction operations have to deal with very strong current forces, to counter these forces the crew normally places vortex-induced vibration strakes also known as VIV strakes. These vibration strakes counter the current forces and disperse them away from the pipeline.

Process time to manufacture polyurethane products is short and is ideal for oil & gas industry which demands very little downtime to maintain its equipment’s as it can’t delay extraction or transport operations. A possibility to coat existing worn products with is a polyurethane coating, gives a big advantage in cutting short the downtime maintenance and also helps in cost savings. These coatings can give the same kind of durability and service life once properly coated. Polyurethane components can usually be retrofitted into existing operations if a replacement is required right away. Flexible or rigid pipes, spacers, tanks, seals-–polyurethane components can be developed and installed in a fraction of the time other material solutions would require.

Polyurethane can be custom designed to suit each client’s requirement. The product can be replicated - either with the help of a sample or a drawing. Our design team can then make a prototype of the mold and make the product to the client’s specifications. This gives it more flexibility to manufacturers to design products made from polyurethane to suit specific and challenging demands of the oil & gas industry. It’s a perfect antidote to the extreme work conditions of high pressure, corrosion and abrasive forces.

4. Mining and Crusher Industries

Equipment’s in the Mining and aggregate industries must withstand one of the toughest working conditions. High wear and tear and tough environmental conditions can greatly impact the performance of the equipment’s. When equipment’s fail they can bring production to a standstill, maintenance could take days or even weeks in remote areas which may result in heavy downtime costs.
Materials such as rubber and steel get damaged due to the abrasive nature of the mining materials- polyurethane comes in as a viable option as it can withstand tough working conditions and comes out as a winner against conditions where it is exposed to

severe impact, puncture, cutting, tearing, and abrasion. The material also has the ability to change shape under heavy load pressure, and then return to its original shape once the load is removed.

5. Offshore Marine Construction

Offshore marine construction is required to support the ever growing demand for oil and gas exploration. This means that keeping up with the demand in oil and gas extraction, transport and processing. The offshore platforms need to be built before the exploration can actually begin. The support systems on the offshore rigs need to be in place to make sure smooth flow of materials from the rigs to the vessels. Polyurethane has been the first choice for various oil and gas operations, as it is with the offshore construction industry
All oil and gas explorations require long pipes to transport oil and gas from the sea bed. These long and heavy pipes are handled by pipe laying vessels which have heavy load carrying lifts. These lifts are fitted with heavy duty polyurethane roller cradles for easy and safe movement of

heavy pipes from on shore sites to the cargo vessels and from there to the pipe laying vessels.
The pipes go through the fabrication process where they are beveled, welded together and blasted before being coated to protect the pipe against the ruggers of sea bed conditions. Here 100% solids rigid or structural polyurethane coating on pipes (inside and outside) is a preferred choice on all three pipe substrates: steel, ductile iron and concrete as they have excellent flexibility, elongation, impact and abrasion resistance properties and are anti-corrosive and anti-microbial resistant.
Another application during the pipe laying process where polyurethane is widely used is when strong water current forces are required to disperse away from the pipeline to avoid a direct hit and cause damage. These dispersal strakes are made from flexible polyurethane.

6. Customt Molded Polyurethane Products

Polyurethane can be compounded and fabricated into almost any shape or size while attaining the properties required for a particular application. With minimum effort, products can be manufactured from the existing sample by using the same sample to prototype the product.
However where required, the product can be custom designed by our engineering department and fabricated as per the drawings or samples submitted by the client’s.
Since in most cases the mold cost is low – it is cost effective to produce smaller quantities.

7. Paper & Corrugated Industries

Ismat offers a number of solutions for cardboard, plastic and paper production and packaging. Our products can meet customer requirements for demanding applications such as oil and solvent resistance or antistatic applications. Our in-house machining facility allows us to engineer specific cast geometries which will not scuff, mar or damage the end product while maintaining the proper coefficient of

friction to drive a variety of substrates. 8. Printing Industries

Ismat has manufactured a number of polyurethane products in the printing industry. Our custom formulated compounds impart better properties compared to rubber compounds. Our specialized machining also allows for fine surface finishes and very tight

tolerances. We have complete fabrication facilities in-house for welding and machining of substrates we cast to. Our products have high abrasion and chemical resistance and superior cut resistance across our product range.

9. Material Handling

Our range consists of products for conveyor line rollers and custom material handling machinery. Our in-house machining and fabrication

facilities allow us to maintain prompt deliveries and hold tight tolerances using post machining operations.
